We’ll be recording show 7 this Friday and we want to get our listeners a bit more envolved. So we bring you a few questions:
1. What is your favourite snack while playing WoW? Do you make special food during raid nights? Or is it just standard take out night?
2. What do you do when the game gets boring? How do you prefent or handle a wow-burn out?
3. What do you think of the looks of the tier-sets in game compared to vanilla/tbc/wrath and now cata? What’s your favourite and why? Which is your least favourite?
You can reply here or send us an e-mail at girlsgonewowpodcast@gmail.com. We wouldn’t mind getting mp3 with your message!

1. Before the raid I usually get some chocolate cookies or roasted nuts with water, in the winter often warm milk with honey to keep me warm
It’s a must, especially on progression bosses when you spend a lot of time ressing and rebuffing. If I don’t have anything to eat I’m easily annoyed and distracted xD
2. Never had a wow burnout, since I’ve only played for almost 3 years now. I do have the occasional boring days, then I either go lvl some alt, do old content, farm rep or just hang around and act silly or talk with friends. The social aspect of the game is what really keeps me going anyways. Cata’s been out for about 3 months now, but already so bored with the new stuff, can’t see another hc.
3. Gear wise I can’t really comment much, though I’ve seen some tier set drops from older raids. I must say I disliked t10 (correct me if I’m wrong) the most. As a hunter I never got to show my head since it had this huge protruding element on it which looked more like a misplaced dildo :p The head that dropped from Onyxia was pretty neat though, with the dragonskull. Don’t have the t11 head yet, but looks kinda fishy to me :/ Goggles from engineering are nice, but I always tick off the ‘display head’ feature in my options. I like the lush look of my blue troll mohawk lots more
Going to use your answers in show 7 and 8
On the subject of DC’s / lag. Where the lag is packet loss based (we’ve had a lot of experience with that here recently) the nagle hack to Windows can make a massive difference. Subjective experience indicates that windows machines using the hack have a much shorter lag duration than those not using it.
Fortunately it would appear that my ISP and/or BT have kicked something and my link is looking a lot nicer.
The “chat is working, the game is stalled” effect is down to the different server links a recent blue response on this was – “Home is the latency in your connection to the server, the World is the dynamic latency of the area that your character is situated,so this value may appear higher when in a city.”
So loss of the game but not chat indicates problems with the world server, whereas loss of the game and chat indicates you’re going to be reaching for the authenticator shortly.
